The best ways to get around Zurich is by road and rail. There are several different railways stations that are located in Zurich, including the Zurich Main Station and the Alstetten. Many different trains also stop in town, including the InterCityExpress, the Cisalpino, and the French TGV trains.
The motorways that pass close to Zurich are the A1, A3, and A4. From these roads at Zurich you can get to St. Gallen, Bern, Geneva, Scaffhausen, Basel, and Sargans. Just miles northeast of the city lies the Zurich International Airport.

Zurich has the densest public transportation system in the world. Not only do nearly everyone use the system, but they also have the frequency of a very efficient system—sometimes as often as seven minutes, for certain trains. Other means of mass transit, including buses and the S-Bahn are also available. The Buses include both diesla and electric.
If you want to explore the waterways in Zurich, you can also take a boat ride on the lake or the river. Any tickets that you purchase for public transportation will work on any of the public transportation systems, including the train, tram, boat, and bus.
