Roman buses and trams are run by ATAC. Buses will take you to most areas of Rome, however traffic can make this slow-going, and buses can be crowded. Tickets are valid for 75 minutes, and can be used on both buses, trams and in the subway. Weekly tickets and tourist passes are available and highly recommended.

Taxis are available in Rome, however you can’t hail one and it is difficult to even get one at a taxi stand. The best option to use a taxi is to call a taxi service. Taxis are metered, and suitcases add a supplemental charge.
