Munich Transport

Munich Tranport Germany - Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is one of Germany’s major cultural and festive centers. According to visitors and residents alike – “Munich sparkles”. This city offers a vitality, energy, and glamour that draw visitors year after year.

Munich Airport is the central airport for this city. Bus transportation is available to Munich with bus stops at various locations around the airport. Hotel shuttle services are also offered for the major hotels within Munich. Taxi stands are available outside Terminal 1 and 2 as well as the Central area. There is also railway service provided by the MVV from the airport to Munich. S1 travels to Central Station, and S8 travels to Ost-bahnhof.

Munich Germany is a city made for walking. It offers a large pedestrian zone in the center of the city, and a number of the major attractions can only be reached on foot.

Munich’s excellent public transportation system is run by the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (www.mvv-muenchen.de). Fortunately, the same ticket allows you to ride the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams and buses. Children receive discounts, and day tickets are available for unlimited use.

Taxis are available throughout the city and can be hailed on the street or at a taxi stand by most major hotels.

Exploring Munich by car is not recommended due to heavy traffic and the fact that most of the major attractions are ideally reached on foot. However if a trip to the countryside is desired, there are a number of car rental companies available in the city center.
