In this market you’ll find meats, cheeses, wine, and other Bavarian delicacies.

Grossmarkthalle at Thalkirchen is an industrial-looking complex where merchants arrive with items from all over the countryside. There is an entrance fee that allows you to browse, but buying is wholesale only – meaning you will need to buy large quantities. So bring a bushel basket or a wheeled cart if you plan to buy from these wholesalers. Otherwise, simply observe the way business is conducted.

Christkindlmarkt at marienplatz is a very traditional market in Munich. This market is open throughout December and is quite famous in the region. There are hundreds of stalls that provide ornaments, children’s toys, and carved figures. The square is very quaint and full of color, a winter wonderland when the snow falls.
