Madrid Transport Spain - The Spanish capital of Madrid has been growing tremendously over the last few years. Undergoing improved metro and rail transport and vast expansion of the city, the city of Madrid is an up and coming metropolis that is now home to the third busiest airport in Europe. The city is an amazing cultural mix that is changing as quickly as the city is growing. The city represents Spanish tradition and versatility.
Madrid’s airport is the Barajas Airport. There are a number of transportation options from the airport to the city centre. AeroCity is a taxi service that can be reserved in advance (www.gomadrid.com/aerocity/). Buses are available from the terminals and connect to the Metro at Avenida de America. Rates are reasonable and tickets are also valid for the Metro. All major car rental companies are available at the Barajas airport. The Barajas airport also has metro stations in Terminal T2 and T4. Service is every 5 minutes and Line 8 goes straight to the Nuevos Ministerios Metro station in the centre of Madrid. Taxis are also available at the taxi ranks.
