Detroit Michigan Shopping - The Northland Center in Southfield just off the Northwestern Highway was originally an open-air mall, later enclosed. This shopping center houses the largest Macy’s store in the entire nation. It was developed by J.L. Hudson Company; it originally consisted of multiple levels and is surrounded by two stories of retail stores. There are over 100 stores available in this shopping center, and the original Hudson’s is now Macy’s. There are several good dining options for hungry shoppers.

Livonia Mall at Middlebelt and 7 Mile houses mostly specialty stores, and offers shows throughout the year. This mall has over 50 stores, including Sears and Value City. This mall has an abundance of interesting independent stores and fewer chain stores. It also houses a movie theater. Westland Center at Wayne and Warren Roads was the third in a series of shopping centers developed to showcase Hudson’s. It was Michigan’s first enclosed mall, features a play area, and has some great dining options including Macy’s Lakeside Grille. The mall houses 87 retail stores as well as Sears, JC Penney, Macy’s and Kohl’s.
