Dallas Texas Shopping - Dallas is famous for providing a world-class shopping experience. As the home of Neiman Marcus, Dallas prides itself on having more shopping opportunities per capita than any other city in the United States. That is no understatement - shopping options are virtually unlimited.
West Village is a European style mall that features beautiful wide sidewalks lined with trees, surrounded by stunning 1930’s architecture. NorthPark Center, over 2.4 million square feet of shopping heaven, offers a fine selection of restaurants and boutiques, featured by the Dallas Business Journal as “Dallas/Ft. Worth’s most popular metroplex attraction” each year since 1998. NorthPark offers a complimentary shuttle to and from DART, which makes it extremely convenient to visit. At the center, shoppers will discover some of the finest stores including Dallas’ own Neiman Marcus. Additionally NorthPark Center hosts Tiffany and Co, Burberry, Kate Spade, Eiseman Jewels, and much more. Fine dining is easy to find when there are options that include Maggiano’s Little Italy and McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant.
After a 2007 $235 million expansion that spanned three years, NorthPark center is the largest shopping center in North Texas, and is poised to become one of the top five shopping destinations in the country by 2008.
NorthPark Center features a 1.4 acre landscaped garden featuring sculpture, plantings, trees and lawn – a wonderful place to enjoy the absolute best of what Dallas has to offer. Highland Park was built in 1931, and is considered the country’s first shopping center. It is architecturally stunning, and houses some of the most high-end retailers including Hermes, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Escada, and many more. In 2000, Highland Park was designated a National Historic Landmark. Highland Park is the site of an annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides and a number of other celebrations. It would certainly be a memorable stop for the Dallas visitor.
