This museum is located twelve miles south of Copenhagen, but it is well worth the trip. From the outside, it looks like a huge vessel that is stranded on the coast. It is a museum that houses Scandinavian, Danish, and international art from 1945 to the present.

This museum holds a vast collection of sculpture. Thirty of these works are by the French sculptor Rodin. This is the largest and most important Rodin collection outside of France. You can also see sculptures by ancient cultures and there is also a small collection of paintings to view at the museum.

Thorvaldsen Museum

This museum is dedicated to life and times of Bertel Thorvaldsen, a sculptor that lived in the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum houses some of his best known work, and the building itself is also an art piece, with art painted on the ceilings and walls.

This is one of Denmark’s largest museums for art. The scope of the pieces that it houses is from the medieval age to the most modern installations. The exhibition space in the museum has recently doubled in size.
