Bangkok Thailand Transport - Bangkok has one of the most accessible public transportation systems. There are buses and taxis everywhere in the city to get you to your next tourist destination. There are also other forms of transportation, such as boat, that are quite unique to Bangkok. Taxis in Bangkok are similar in price to taxis in any of the major western cities, but still cheaper in price to visitors who will find Bangkok, in general, a very affordable city to visit.

If you need to get outside of the city as well as around the city, there are city trains as well as regional trains that will take you to all of the destinations that you most want to see. The Skytrain is a main line of transportation in the city as well as outside into all fo the surrounding areas of Bangkok.

Bangkok also has a Metro line that runs throughout the city. Tickets to the two different train systems are not interchangeable. This is important for all tourists to know. The train lines are ran by two different companies so if you want to switch trains, you must buy a ticket that corresponds with either the Metro line or the Skytrain that you want to get on.

A unique way to travel throughout the city is by boat. You will be able to see many of the tourist spots right from the water and you can also save a lot of money on boat tours. You can take a tourist boat on the river to get to some of the best tourist attractions that are on the riverfront, or you can take a ride in one of the many canal boats to further navigate through the city.

If you pick a hotel in the right location, there will be many places that you can get to by foot. Hotels near or on the riverfront will give you access to all of the dinner cruises, riverfront palaces and shrines, and it will put you right next to all of the boating travel options in Bangkok. A hotel further inside the city will be better served by the Metro line or Skytrain. But to save money, you will be able to walk to many popular destinations from specific hotels and also from some of the Metro line and bus stations.
